Becky Falls has a long history as a visitor attraction. It first opened to the public in 1903 and has been welcoming visitors for generations ever since. It is a small family business, owned and run by the Richards Family. We all have a very hands on roles working on-site throughout the year alongside our amazing team.
We are immensely proud of our team of local people here at Becky Falls and they are an extension of our family. You will find that they are all keen to tell you more about Becky Falls and all that is on offer to make your day out with us special and fun.
Below we have named our full-time staff but there are many other amazing part-time staff that are very important to the running of the business too! We just didn't have space to name everyone!
Director
Paul has wide range of interests across the park and loves nothing more than chatting with visitors about our latest additions and plans for the park. During the winter Paul works with Adam and Steve to make improvements and maintain the park.
Education and customer experience
Pippa has a background in museums and education and loves to inspire visitors about the woodland. Pippa is especially enthusiastic about bugs and how vital they are to humans and the planet. Pippa delivers the school workshops and also works in the kitchen, café and gift shop.
Commercial Manager
Emily, looks after the the day-to-day running of the business including marketing, staffing, purchasing and admin.
Grounds Manager
Adam looks after the woodland, fencing, and buildings here at Becky Falls and helps protect all the rare species we have here. Adam recently undertook further study with Plantlife specifically relating to the protection of our temperate rainforest. You will also find Adam working in the Café and Shop sometimes too.
Car Park Attendant
Steve is our full-time car park attendant and has been for over 15 years! Steve loves welcoming visitors into the park, he is the first person you'll meet when you arrive. Steve is full of local knowledge if you're looking for any recommendations. Over the winter months, Steve works with Adam maintaining the park and paths.
Operations Manager
Gem is a key member of the team, she is manages day to day operation of the Zoo, Café, and Gift Shop, and is often your first port of call for any questions during your visit. Gem is often assisted by her teenage son and daughter who work here in the Café & Gift Shop during college holidays! As a qualified and experienced Animal Keeper, Gem has a range of interesting animal stories and facts to share with you.
Animal Keeper
Nathan joined the team in 2024 as an experienced Animal Keeper. Nathan has a love for all animals including our native wildlife. He is passionate about inspiring our visitors and enjoys delivering talks.
Café Cook
Joe first started working at Becky Falls in 2019. His main role is Café Cook but you will also find him welcoming visitors to the Park as Car Park Attendant two days per week.
Café & Gift Shop
Millie joined the team in 2021. Millie now supervises in the Café and Shop as well as working as a qualified Animal Keeper one day per week and over the winter months.
Animal Keeper
Lucy is the newest addition to the team, joining us this year as a fully qualified and experienced Animal Keeper.
